Balance Change Details (May 27, 2025)

Hey everyone! 👋 Following the release of the Heroes' update, we identified several bugs and balance needs that are being addressed through rolling maintenances and optional updates. Make sure you have the latest optional update downloaded to ensure the best gameplay experience possible! DOWNLOAD ON iOS DOWNLOAD ON ANDROID May 27 Balance Changes: The Heroes' update brings much more control to players, and the ability to express your skill in Squad fights. While encouraging and rewarding PvP play is very much part of the vision for Heroes, the current balance has landed in an unexpectedly aggressive place. To give more time for back-and-forth action during Squad fights, the following units are getting an HP buff. Heroes Barbarian King: 7200 -> 8300 Health (+15%). Archer Queen: 6500 -> 7500 Health (+15%). Mortis: 5800 -> 7000 Health (+21%). Squaddies Barbarian: 1700 -> 2000 Health (+18%). El Primo: 2000 -> 2400 Health (+20%). Shelly: 1650 -> 1800 Health (+9%). Heavy: 1850 -> 2200 Health (+19%). Nita's Bruce: 2500 -> 3000 Health (+20%). Bandit: 1650 -> 2000 Health (+21%). Battle Healer: 1800 -> 2100 Health (+17%). Pam: 1700 -> 1900 Health (+12%). Dr. T's Mega Crab: 4500 -> 5400 Health (+20%). Hog Rider: 1700 -> 1950 Health (+15%). Miner: 2050 -> 2300 Health (+12%). Frank: 1900 -> 2300 Health (+21%). Optimus Prime: 2250 -> 2500 Health (+11%). Medic: Heal is getting 30% stronger to help support these deeper Health pools. Mavis: The new balance impacted Mavis' usage much more than expected, making farming strategies much harder. We've buffed her loot and to help correct this playstyle imbalance. Additionally, she picks Carrots a bit faster to help keep up with higher mobility gameplay. Carrot pulling speed increased 25%. Loot improved. Gem Hunt Modes: Mavis Carrots drop 4x more Gems. Showdown: Baby: Carrots drop 23% more Coins. Classic: Carrot Patches drop 23% more Coins. Abilities Certain dominant powers that can leave little time for reaction are seeing very high usage rates. We're re-tuning these to allow more time to react and require more accuracy to achieve their full potential. Mega Fireball: Mega Fireball offers a powerful punch, but can sometimes be hard to see coming in the heat of battle. It has been rebalanced to be more readable. A portion of its impact damage has also been moved to the Fire effect in Mega Fireball II (Ultra Wizard), to make it a bit less daunting for newer players. Mega Fireball I Takes 25% longer to reach its target, and flies with a higher and more readable arc. Impact damage reduced 17%: 990 -> 820. Mega Fireball II Does 1 extra tick of damage for 17% extra damage: 6 -> 7 ticks (+17%). Fire debuff duration increased: 2.4s -> 2.8s (+17%). Ultra ability text value updated: 50% -> 85%. Bea's Bees Bea has been re-tuned to reward sticking on targets more, and to have less focus on sudden bursts of damage. This aims to make bee attacks easier to recognize and give more time for reaction. Bee Frenzy (Power): Bees deal 20% less damage: 182 -> 155 damage per hit. Bee Frenzy I and II both last 20% longer. Circling Bees (Trait): Bees deal 40% less damage. Bees circle 40% faster. This results in an overall DPS reduction of 15%. Busted Squaddies We're changing the loot dropped by busted Squaddies to slow down PvP snowballing by dominant Squads. Extra Coins dropped per busted Squaddie: Less extra Coins will drop from smaller Squads in all modes. Bigger Squads will drop slightly more extra Coins in Showdown, to adjust for smaller average Squad sizes. Gem Hunt: Gems lost per busted Squaddie Squaddies will now drop 50% less of the Squad's Gems when busted. Game Modes Gem Hunt Modes Amount of Coins dropped for busted Squaddies will be less for small Squads, more for big Squads. Proportion of Gems dropped from a busted Squaddie will be reduced ~50%. Mavis drops more Gems (in Gem Hunt Modes) and more Coins (in Showdown). Showdown Amount of Coins dropped per busted Squaddie will be slightly reduced. Turbo Now that Turbo Boots are consumable, we've increased their duration around 25% to give them more value. Mortis: Turbo duration increased 25%: 2s -> 2.5s. Other Heroes: Turbo duration increased 27%: 2.75s -> 3.5s. Miscellaneous Ultimate Wizard released. Game Center account recovery working properly for guest accounts. We know there is a lot more to address with the current state of balance, including many underused Powers that could use a buff. Expect more balancing in the next update, which you'll be hearing about soon! May 27 Fixes: Fix for some players not being able to matchmake in Duos Game Modes. May 21 Fixes: Fix for Lineup staying the same for some players after yesterday's fix. Fix for various visual and UI bugs. May 20 Balance Changes: Fusion Health increase from +37% of Base Health > +50% of Base Health. Mega Health increase from +75% of Base Health > +100% of Base Health. May 19 Fixes: Fix for merge button indicator not showing when Character is maxed out. Fix for Chest Reward chances link. Fix for Barbarian King getting to full HP during his Dash. Fix for Spell stick only resetting once. Some players still seeing old splash screen, has now been updated for all. Fix for navigation arrows not working when you went to the Squad screen from Plaza. Fix for Squaddie portraits not changing after Evolution. Fix for button press for claimed Hero shop items. Fix for Quest icons continuously getting smaller. Fix for players getting different Units from Chest's that were shown in lineup. Removed Hero Journey Emotes from Shop. May 15 Balance Changes: Movement speed increased. May 15 Fixes: Fix for accounts showing maxed out Characters as upgradable. Fix for yellow Character Upgrade arrow in the Shops Daily Deals section not working properly. Update the Power/Trait buttons when changing characters since two characters have powers at level 0. Fix for Heroes appearing in Chests as Squaddies in Training mode. This also was the reason for many of the crashes that some players were experiencing after the update. Fix for Trait/Skill icons of the incorrect Hero are displayed after changing Squaddies whilst in the upgrade screen. Fix for accidental auto-aim Hero Power. Fix for notification bubble not clearing when new Hero is visited. Fix for old Spell Quests that were still being counted by Book alert counter. Fixed a placeholder text present when attempting to buy something else during the tutorial. Fixes for various visual bugs. Wizard Ultimate is currently visible in-game, but it hasn’t been released yet. Start Date & Duration: The Squadiversary Event starts Friday, May 23 at 11:00 UTC and lasts for 8 days! Mortis: The Bat-Summoning Unit Master! 🦇 How He Works Mortis is a powerful Summoner, leading a furious swarm of Bats into battle! Summons Bats from fallen enemies and Tombstones. Can send all of your Summoned Units charging forward in a powerful Monster Charge. Every time his Bats deal damage, Mortis heals! The more Bats you have, the stronger (and scarier) your Squad becomes! ⚡ Monster Charge (Power) Every few seconds, Mortis can send all of your Squads Summoned Units to charge in: Summons 3 more Bats (max 5 at first, increases to 7 later). Heals Mortis when the Bats hit enemies. 🪦 Tombstone (Trait) If Mortis sees a Tombstone nearby, he’ll summon a Bat from it! This means more Bats, more healing, and more uses of his Monster Charge Power! Later upgrades make his Bat swarm larger and also charge his Monster Charge faster. 🚀 Turbo (Speed Boost + Attack) Mortis’ Turbo gives a huge speed boost and also builds up a powerful dash attack! After charging, stop Turbo to release a big AoE attack that damages and knocks back enemies. Turbo recharges faster with upgrades, and at level 3 he starts with an extra one!
